It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you want to start using video content to market your business or promote yourself. In this episode of Sociable Video Sessions I talk about one of the easiest and best ways to get your feet wet in video content marketing. The concept is simple and easy to produce but you can use this technique to get several pieces of content that you can release over time on your blog, YouTube channel and push to your Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

Hi, welcome to Sociable Video, the Q&A edition, where I answer your questions on video marketing, YouTube marketing and production. This question today comes from Mike in Ontario. “I just started an online business, what should my first video be about?” So I get this question a lot, people trying to figure out what the best way is to get started in video marketing. They understand that it’s a great way to connect with their audience. It keeps people on their page longer, it’s proven to create more action and more people will subscribe to your e-mail list, more people will follow through on taking some sort of action, maybe even purchasing something.
They realize the benefits, often the next question is, so what do I do? What, what do I create? The really easy answer to this is create a list, you could either create a survey and present it to your audience, maybe through Twitter or just on your website and survey them on what they want to know about your product or service that you’re offering. Or you could just brainstorm your own list.
You come up with a list of 5 to 10 questions. You could either have all the questions in one video or you could have the questions maybe, separated up by minute chunks in separate videos. However you want to do it, but that way you get some content to add to your site, your blog, to your YouTube and it’s fairly quick and easy to do.
You can either read off the questions and answer them directly in the camera or you could do the produced interview thing, where you look to the side of the camera like I’m doing now and either have someone sitting there, asking the questions that you’ll cut out of the video later, or you could just pretend that they’re there and just repeat the question in your answer. That is kind of a quick and easy, video content concept.
