If I had to define Audials One succinctly, it would be a comprehensive media search engine.
I stumbled onto the Audials entertainment suite while looking for a service to combine all my media requirements at one place. Usually, we surf multiple media websites like YouTube, Netflix, Saavn and others for various needs and a service that combines everything is preferable.
What is Audials?
Founded in 1998, the company was previously known by the name Rapid Solution Software. The technology development center is based in Temeschburg, Romania. The company released Tunebite in 2004, a proprietary media converter that legally bypassed Digital Rights Management (DRM) from movies, videos, songs, and audiobooks.
Audials One is a complete media manager, media player, and media recorder. The Windows-based suite has tons of media options, from media streaming to recording. The Audials One consists of Tunebite Premium, Radiotracker, Tunebite Platinum and Moviebox components.
Do note that media recording enters the gray area of legality. The suite enables recording of streaming music and video. Audials counter this by using its Music Wishes feature where users can collect 10 million music tracks, “legally and free”, from 870,000+ artists. This conflicts with directives of sites like Netflix which states that “you agree not to archive, download, reproduce, distribute content and information contained on or obtained from or through Netflix service without the express written permission from Netflix”.
However, Audials positions its service among the class of DVRs, VCRs, and tape recorders, saying that it doesn’t give access to encrypted or cracked data, which puts the service under copyright protection law.
Moving on, if you’re comfortable with their legal stand, read on how you can use Audials One for your blogging purpose.
It’s like digital media on steroids.
How is Audials One Beneficial for Bloggers?
The next-gen bloggers are moving beyond textual content, right? We’re venturing into visual media and high interactive mediums.
#1 YouTube Videos
From ‘how to’ videos to the nerdy stuff, YouTube is THE last word on video entertainment. With Audials One, I could download and save videos, store and play it anytime.
Go to Save Videos. You can either opt for Video Recording choice or copy paste a video URL.
The video will be recorded / downloaded and saved on your system / cloud server.
Sometimes, you’ll see a dialog box saying whether I want to verify if the “music websites providing the content allow this”. Click on OK to allow the download.
The software grants access to thousands of international podcasts to download and listen. If you want to learn blogging 24×7, use this method to access podcasts. With this, I downloaded Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income podcasts.
Or, you can stream it if you’re connected to the Internet.
#3 Background Music
If you’re into video making or want to try the video blogging segment, this software gives you access is loads of background music.
I just searched for “background music” and Audials gave me more than 1000 options! It shows the source of the music. You can download them and use it in your own videos. Just put a disclaimer about the music source.
Audials One also performs video and audio file conversions.
The integrated media player gives access to a lot of music TV stations and Internet radio stations.
You can save all the recordings and downloads to your cloud storage services. Their Android and iOS apps are nifty. Initially, the interface could be overwhelming; play around a bit and you’ll be comfortable.
It’s been more than a month of using Audials One. I have created a completely personalized cache of videos, music and converted CD’s for future personal and professional use. I hope you’ll find the software useful.
